Despite a boring Jets/Pats game I took refuge in the fact that Brady was visibly frustrated by his young wide receiving crew. Payback for the Tuck Rule. Yes I am still bitter about that. Okay...where do I go with my line ups this week and make sure I avoid the dreaded Thursday night mistake I did last week which cost me the game.
Family League
Another round of double headers this week - Movin...Over Company and Bubbs - one is my younger cousin while the other is my uncle. Probably need to take it easy on the old guy - nah...he is also one that won our league the first year and has never sniffed the trophy since.
QB - Romo did well against the Giants last week but has rib issues going into Kansas City. Vick on the other hand did awesome in Chip Kelly's O and should be poised for another big game against the Chargers. EJ Manuel is on the bench but he was a draft pick set for keeping our rookie player for next year. I am going to go with Vick this week.
RB - Like many in Fantasy Football land, how does one handle the non-committalness of Coughlin in regards to David Wilson. Since the Giants signed Brandon Jacobs and Scott is hobbled a bit, I think Wilson is ready to prove himself once and for all. Daryl Richardson hurt his foot in the third quarter last week but is still the guy in St. Louis despite Pead being back this week from suspsension. Will lose some carriers I am sure. Mark Ingram was non-existent last week for the Saints. Despite reports from New Orleans that they want a more balanced attack I just can't trust Ingram just yet. Matthews didn't look that bad against the Texans but lost plays after the Chargers got up by 21 points. Looks like I am going to have to ride Wilson and Richardson for another week.
WR - Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant are both no brainers to start despite bad weeks last week and Dez having a slight foot issue. The question is do I go with Britt against the Texans or rookie Austin against the Falcons. The Rams may need more throwing done against the Falcons. Guess its Megatron, Dez and Austin again this week.
K - Steven Hauschka will be my kicker and I will roll with the Rams D.
So my lineup in my family league will be:
QB - Vick
RB - Wilson and Richardson
WR - Megatron, Dez, and Austion
K - Hauschka
Def - Rams
Movin...over Company lineup
QB - Peyton Manning
RB - D. Williams and AP
WR - Colston, Edelman, and A. Brown
K - Dawson
Def - Vikings
Will be a tough one but I don't think I win this one though.
Bubbs lineup
QB - Brees
RB - Law Firm and Murray
WR - Wayne, L. Moore, and Finley
K Walsh
Def - Broncos
Despite Brees big potential I think I have this one by at least a touchdown.
Fantasy Football Junkie League (nfl.com)
After a tough lose last week where I saw Spiller, Foster and Dez all lay eggs I am hoping for a rebound game this week against my oldest son.
QB - Matt Ryan gets the Rams this week. Despite a tough Rams D, Ryan is rock solid in the Georgia Dome. Romo is my other option and with bruised ribs I think I should stick with Matt Ryan
RB - Foster as a bit of disappointment last week and lost time to Tate. Not seeing that happening this week. CJ Spiller was a bit dinged up but should be ready to go and hopefully they run him until he pukes this week. C. Johnson didn't do much last week nor did I have high expectations for him. Texans D won't make this much easier this week either. Mark Ingram, as I said before, is in a tough running back by committee team that likes to ride the hot hand. I picked up J. Bell after Vareen went down but is he up for a repeat performance? Since I have to start 2 RB and get a flex position to put a RB in it looks like Foster, Spiller and Johnson.
WR - Dez and Graham are no brainers but I do face a dilemna in this smaller 8 team league as I have Nicks, Wallace and Amendola on the bench. But I will go with Dez and Graham again this week.
The Pats D already put up a 16 point spot for me and if I can get Walsh to equal that would be awesome.
QB - Ryan
RB - Foster and Spiller
WR/TE - Dez and Graham
Flex - Johnson
K - Walsh
D - Pats
The Dragons line up
QB - Luck
RB Wilson and Ridley - ouch 4 pts only from Ridley
WR = Julio, White
Flex - AJ
K - Hartley
D - 49ers
I think I am looking pretty well set for this game.
Yahoo League
First time playing individual D players and I won convincingly in my first game. Let's see if I can run the table!
QB - We get the luxury of starting two in this league and since I only have three it shouldn't be too tough to pick from. Palmer did well for me last week scoring over 30 points and this week get a not so great Lions secondary. Don't let the stat line fool you, Ponder is no Palmer. Flacco had a decent day as well against the Donkeys and this week gets the Browns where he typically doesn't do very well. For that reason I am thinking about using EJ Manuel as the other QB position. The Panthers D did play well last week and Manuel is a rookie..hhmmm..I think I will stick with Palmer and Flacco.
RB - AP is a no brainer. We only have to start 1 RB with the option of starting 2 others but then that means one less QB. My other choices are D. Richardson who has foot injury but will start or Lamar Miller who is splitting carriers in Miami. AP and Richardson will be the choices.
WR - Have to start 2 of these guys and it isn't real tough since we only get three bench players. Marshall faces a pathetic secondary in the Vikings while Julio will face a little tougher D but still should get 15 points this week. My other WR is Harvin who I took as the last pick so when he is ready to come back I have him.
K Vinateri
D - Team D will be Atlanta with Bobby Wagner and Patrick Willis being my individual guys.
Frozen Tundra line up
QB - Schaub
WR - Garcon and Jennings
RB - Law Firm
WR/TE/RB - J Cook
QB/WR/RB/TE - G Smith - only 11.26 points
K - Prater
D- C Tillman - may not play - D Hall Team D was the Pats 16 solid points
Despite trailing 27.26 to 0 right now I am confident I win this one before Sunday night.
ESPN league
This is the league that I made a last minute change last Thursday that cost me the win. I went into this draft thinking Eagles and I got the three headed monster then I hear last Thursday that Chump Bailey will be out - he is out again this week - and I switch Jackson out and put in Torrey Smith. I talked myself into that one..ugh!
QB - Vick was awesome last week but did look to get dinged up on his last run. They get the Dolts and Vick should have another great game. Flacco is my other choice and has never really done great against the Browns. Vick will start.
RB - McCoy will be a no brainer to start. D. Richardson should top 13 points against the Falcons despite Pead being back. David Wilson best bring his game this week or Scott or Jacobs will have his job. Mendenhall did okay last week but still hasn't proven anything yet. Daniel Thomas outscored Lamar Miller last week but that is only good if they are playing each other.
WR - With Amendola hurt that leaves DeSean Jackson, Torrey Smith, Miles Austin or Kenny Britt to fill the two WR spots I must fill. Jackson will start as I won't make that mistake again. Smith is likely to get Haden who is a better corner than any one in Denver. Austin could produce with all the attention paid to Dez Britt was a huge disappointment last week and doesn't look much better Thinking Jackson and Austin.
K - Hauschka
Def -Bengals
Dry Lightning line up
QB - P. Manning
RB - Law Firm and T. Richardson
WR - Megatron and Graham
Flex - Julius Thomas
K - Bullock
Def - Eagles
This all rides on if Wilson plays well and if Manning has an average day. Right now I am a 9 point dog but I think that will be flipped as the Eagles will put points this week and I should see around 55 points from McCoy, Vick and Jackson.

Week 1 Recap
Well Chip Kelly's idea of O shined through on Monday night and in one of the drafts I bought the hype only to allow myself to be outfoxed by inserting Torrey Smith in on Thursday night because Bailey was going to be out for DeSean Jackson. If I had just left my line up alone and gone with my original plan I would have won that game in the ESPN league. Ugh. The choices we all face.
Then again I shouldn't had to worry if David Wilson would have done what he was suppose and carried the rock for 20 times but instead he started the year off again fumbling the ball away. Now Coughlin is entertaining the idea of other running backs like Bradon Jacobs and Beenie Wells to replace Wilson. Just need to hang onto the rock little man. The Steelers RB situation is in shambles which prompted them to re-sign Dwyer the biggest loss there for the Steelers is center Pouncy is done for the year.
In my first league in playing with individual D players I faired much better. After watching a tough loss in the ESPN league unfold, I was able to sit back and enjoy the late game on Monday night knowing I had a sixty point lead and all my opponent had left to go was Gates. While I didn't get many points from my D players, Palmer, AP, Marshall, Flacco and Julio all put up a great number of points.
The Football Junkies league, playing on NFL.com, wasn't a great showing as CJ Spiller, Megatron and Dez all laid eggs this past week. Foster didn't generate much but I didn't have big expectations in his first game back knowing that him and Tate would be splitting carries.
In the family league, Megatron, Dez, and Wilson let me down. Romo did well but I wonder how his ribs are doing. The upside is that I do have Vick as a backup and Matthews ran the ball pretty well in the season opener. Troubling is that we start with double headers and now I am 0-2 in that league. Although I do have a shot this week at getting back to .500.
The waiver wire should be pretty busy this week in all leagues as people attempt to retool from some disappointing performances.

Week 1
Every week in my family league that I am the Commish of, I write up a my views on the match ups. The first three weeks are tough because we have double headers that start the year off with and I didn't get to it prior to Thursday night. How many other Commish's do this? Or is there anything else that Commish does that makes the league more interesting? I am always looking for ways to make the league I run more entertaining.
D –. The Pat’s D will struggle in keeping the
score low and won’t get a sack on EJ Manuel. The Steelers D is not what it used
to but is still good enough to rattle Locker’s cage Edge

Week 1
Beaver Devils vs Rammer
QB - Phillip Rivers
faces a tough Texan D and doesn’t have that great of WR corp to throw the ball
to this year. Tom Brady will have no trouble with passing the ball against the
Bills D despite losing his top three targets from last year. Edge Rammer
RB – Jamaal Charles will love Andy Reid’s O this year and
gets a great start to the year facing the Jag’s in the first game of the year.
Ridley will see the rock but the Bills D is stingier against the run than the
pass. Lynch faces a tough run D but will still see the rock 30 times this game
so should put up points. Ball is the back up and with Stewart hurt, Rammer is
left without a viable second option. Edge Beaver Devils.
WR – Garcon is healthy and the Eagles are not that great on
D. AJ Green gets a tough secondary but Dalton faces tougher in the division.
Gronk is not ready to be back so it is Witten or Oslen which neither is a great
option. Decker will see plenty of balls and Hilton will top 100 yards too.
Nelson is a question mark to start the season. Edge Rammer
K – Bailey will kick a few points this week. Zuerlein has a
mega leg which could lead to a few long distance FG’s this week. Edge Rammer.
D – Chargers are going to get routed by the Texans this
week. Seahawks will score at least 1 defensive TD against the Panthers. Edge
Rammer
Rammer by 6
Kill Bill vs. Trex
QB – The last four time the Giants ventured into Dallas the
teams combined for more than 60 points on average which means plenty of ball
throwing by Romo. Rodgers goes out West to face a tough 49ers D. Edge Kill Bill
RB – David Wilson is slated to have a monster break out game
this week in Dallas. Mathews will find it a tough go against the Texans D.
Forte will find some daylight against the Bengals and the endzone while Lacy
will be a bust against the 49ers. Edge Kill Bill
WR – Megatron will feast on the Vikqueens this week. Bryant
will get Prince in coverage but it won’t be enough to stop the next Megatron in
the making. Britt is a wild card – could be boom or bust this week. AJ still
has the ability to put up big numbers and with the limited carries that Foster
is expected to see he could be huge for AJ. Bowe will have a great day with
Alex Smith against a bad Jag’s D. Gonzo is old and slow. Edge Trex
K – Hauschka will spend more times kicking PAT’s than FG’s.
Gostkowski will see a few more FG’s than PAT shots. Edge Trex
D – Rams are a better D than people give credit to and will
test the depleted O Line of the Cardinals. 49ers D will give Rodgers and company fits all day
long. Edge Kill Bill
Kill Bill by 5
Movin..Over Company vs. Weekend Warriors
QB – Peyton Manning put on a clinic on Thursday night and
posted 50.10 points. Stafford will pass for over 400 yards against the
Vikqueens but won’t amass 7 TD’s. Edge Movin..over Company
RB – Williams is the only guy to run the rock for the
Panthers beside Cam but face a tough Seahawks D. AP will be the main source of
production for the Vikqueens O and should top 190 yards on Sunday. CJ Spiller
will have two TD’s – one on the ground and one via the air – by half against
the Pats. Jackson is poised to be the top back this year but the Saints game
could become a track meet. Edge Weekend Warriors.
WR – White is a bit dinged up but will be on the field.
Colston is set for a track meet and will look to stretch the field. Brown is
high on Big Ben’s list and will see plenty of action against the Titans. Steve
Johnson is healing up and should be a barn burner for the Bills against the
Pats. Cruz will be on the field and score at least once. Julio is the man in
Atlanta and should put up 18 points this week. Edge Weekend Warriors.
K – Dawson will get plenty of FG shots but all within 30
yards against the Pack. Bryant may be kicking PAT’s in this track meet. Edge
Movin..over Company
D – Vikqueens D will get a few sacks and an INT but will
give up more than 30 points against the Lions. The Pat’s D will struggle in
keeping the score low and won’t get a sack on EJ Manuel. Edge Movin…over
Company
Prior to Thursday I’d put Weekend Warriors on top by 3 but
after Manning I don’t think the WR trio of the Warriors will be enough.
Movin..over Company by 4.
Got Jim? Vs. Green Machines
QB – Luck will be able to pass at will against the Raiders
but may lose out some play calling to the running game. Kaepernick is ready to
prove to the league he is no fluke and will put up as many yards on the ground
as through the air this week. Edge Got Jim?
RB – Bush is the missing piece that the Lions needed and
will be a huge factor in the Lions scoring more than 30 points against the
Vikqueens. Ray Rice had a decent game against the Broncos but 12 carries is
just not enough for this guy. Trent Richardson will be the workhorse for
Cleveland as they have few other options. Chris Johnson is eager to show he is
the back but may lose a TD or two to Greene. Edge Got Jim?
WR - Marshall will
get looks and catches against a very solid Bengals secondary. Thompkins is a
wild card but showed good signs in Preseason. Graham will play this year
without a broken wrist and watch out! Amendola will get plenty of action this
week and will erase Welker’s numbers from Thursday night. Jones will be on the
field but will face a tough secondary. Tate or Little are not very good options
though. Edge Got Jim?
K Bullock will get at least four chances at FGs – question is
will he make them. Tucker already put up 9 points which is solid for a kicker.
Edge Got Jim?
D – Buc’s D is not great but the Jets O is even worse. Pack’s
D struggled with Kap last time around and will so again. Edge Got Jim?
Got Jim? Is a route – by 12.
Bubbs vs. Youngbloods
QB - Brees will look
to top Manning’s numbers from Thursday night and he may just do that on Sunday.
Cam gets a tough Seahawks D who are used to seeing a running QB. Edge Bubbs.
RB – Pierre Thomas will see a few carries but will take a
back seat to Ingram. The Law Firm will struggle to see a lot of action as the
rookie Bernard is slotted to start. Gore will get plenty of touches and yards
against the Packers D this week. Morris is the man but rumor has it that he may
lose carries to Helu this year. Edge YoungBloodz
WR – Wayne is getting older but he is still cagey. Moore
will be lost in the WR circus in New Orleans – could be boom or bust. Finley
will be the main target of Rodgers. Welker already put up 18.95 points. Austin
is on the verge of re-emerging as a threat in the NFL. Smith is pissed at the
media so he will have a decent game. Edge YoungBloodz
K – Walsh will see plenty of FG shots – even three from 50
yards or more. Akers will kick a couple of FG’s but more PATS. Edge Bubbs
D- The Donkeys D already posted 7 points which is
respectable. The Steelers D is not what it used to but is still good enough to

BloodLetters vs. Purple Pistols
QB – Freeman got demoted from Captain and his days may be
numbered as the Buc’s QB but the Jets D will offer a big delay in that. Wilson
will show his arm off this weekend and could top 250 yards along with another
100 yards on the ground. Edge Purple Pistols
RB – McCoy is set to have a monster year in Kelly’s new O
and will start this Monday night. Martin will top 100 yards and two scores
against the Jets. MJD will find room against the Chef’s in the first half but
once the Chef’s pull away he won’t touch the ball again. Foster will be limited
in action but those carries will still get him 120 yards. Edge Bloodletters
WR – D. Thomas had a monster second half after being shut
down early in the game and put up 29.35 points. Smith chipped in another 10.20
points too. Nicks should be able to add another 10 points. Fitzgerald is very
happy to see Palmer at QB and his numbers will reflect that. Vincent Jackson
will top 100 yards but Williams will get the TD. Givens and Bradford are on the
same page and will do very well this week. Edge Bloodletters
K – Seabass will struggle to get shots as the Oakland O isn’t

2013 NFL Predictions
It is Labor Day and many of us are relaxing and enjoying time with family while some of us are looking forward to Thursday night when the Baltimore Ravens start the defense of the Lombardi trophy when they visit the Denver Broncos. With 9 new starts on the Ravens D, it will be a challenge for them to repeat - then again not many thought they would get to the Super Bowl let alone with it last year.
AFC East
The New England Patriots will take this division easily despite losing Welker and Hernandez. The New York Jets won't pose much an effort this year as neither QB option is good enough to win more than 8 games this year. Buffalo Bills could surprise a few teams but without a solid QB they will only go as far as CJ Spiller can carry them. Miami Dolphins made a huge splash in free agency with Mike Wallace. Unfortunately, that won't be enough to threaten for the division title. No wild card team in this division.
AFC North
The Baltimore Ravens still have Flacco, Smith, Rice, and Suggs and will contend this year for the division title even though losing 9 starters on the D from last year. Pittsburgh Steelers let Jonathan Dwyer go on Saturday which was a bit of a surprise. Without a solid running game, aging D and the loss of Mike Wallace the Steelers will amass 9 wins but it won't be enough to take the division. Cincinnati Bengals are the most intriguing team in this division. Under Andy Dalton the Bengals have made it to the playoffs each of the last two years. No major splashes in the free agency market but adding rookie RB and TE will bolster the team to the division title. Cleveland Browns will manage to win 7 games this year.
AFC South
This division is wide open. Houston Texans added a little speed to the WR corp while keeping the D intact and getting healthier. The big question is the new injury that Arian Foster has with his back. Anyone who has had lower back pain understands how easily it can flare up and most are not a running back in the NFL. Jacksonville Jaguars will compete this year but there just isn't enough there on the offense side of the ball to manage 6 wins on the season. Tennessee Titans are starting to round into a playoff team but Locker is still too green to lead them there this year. The team to watch in the Indianapolis Colts. Adding Bradshaw to the backfield will be what Luck needed to soften up the linebackers. Look for the Colts to take this division handily.
AFC West
This is a tough one to write being an Oakland Raider fan. I'd like to grandstand and hype of the Raiders but I just can't see them winning more than 6 games this year. Unless Pryor is the real deal and McFadden can stay healthy all year. Denver Broncos will top 10 wins this year but may struggle a bit with the lost of Dumervil and the suspension of Miller. San Diego Chargers will be challenging the Raiders for the cellar all year long. Kansas City Chiefs will flourish under Andy Reid and will take this division.
Division winners - Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots
Wild Card - Denver Broncos and Houston Texans
AFC Championship game - Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos
NFC East
This could be the toughest division to handicap. The Dallas Cowboys will have a healthy Dez Bryant and Miles Austin while having one of the easiest schedules. If the D can step up this is a 10 win team. Washington Redskins will go as far as RGIII but I see him struggle this year. Philadelphia Eagles will be the most exciting team to watch in this division. Chip's new up tempo offense will make the best use of McCoy, Jackson and Vick's talents but I don't think it will be enough to win the division. Despite losing Bradshaw and Osi it won't deter the New York Giants from wining this division.
NFC North
The Norse division will be fun to watch. Chicago Bears have a new coach that gets the best of his QB and that could be great news for Bears fans. Forte looks great and Marshall should give Megatron a run for the WR title. Minnesota Vikings lost a few key D players, namely Winfield, and added a big name on offense - Greg Jennings. Normally that would be huge, unfortunately not the case when you have Ponder throwing the ball. Vikings will make noise with AP but it won't be enough to take the division. Green Bay Packers have Rodgers but that is about it. Lacy appears to be the answer to a horrible run game but it won't be enough to take the division. The division winner will be the Detroit Lions. Stafford has no excuses this year as the Lions added Reggie Bush to the backfield.
NFC South
Carolina Panthers lost Johnathan Stewart to start the season and didn't add any speed to the WR corp. Cam can only do so much. It looks like another 7 game win season for the Panthers. New Orleans Saints get Sean Payton back this year. I know he is the coach but no one calls a game better and that will be the difference this year. Brees will be able to do his job and not worry about anything else. The D will keep this team out of the Super Bowl. Atlanta Falcons were oh so close to making the Super bowl last year and will get closer this year with the running of Steven Jackson. Tampa Bay Buccaneers will make noise but will struggle to reach 8 wins.
NFC West
The once forgotten division has a lot of fire power this year and could see three playoff teams. Seattle Seahawks plainly got better in the offseason with the additions of Avirl and Harvin -when he comes back - and will take this division this year. San Francisco 49ers added Boldin but lost Crabtree. Kap will still be a play maker but it will have to be a wild card winner if it does take place. St. Louis Rams are the most intriguing team. Bradford has two fast WR's in Givens and Austin. Richardson will show the league why the Rams let Jackson go. Arizona Cardinals could shake up this division if Mendenhall stays healthy and Palmer remains up right.
Division winners - Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, New York Giants
Wild Card - Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints
NFC Conference game - Seattle Seahwaks vs New York Giants
Super Bowl - Seattle Seahawks vs. Indianapolis Colts
Winner - Seattle Seahawks

The 53 player rosters are in
Some names had already been noted prior to the deadline yesterday but a few more surprises took place as the deadline neared.
Jets - QB Greg McElroy - means that Sanchez arm may not be that bad and Smith is the future of that franchise - still no word on who will be starting there though.
Bengals - QB John Skelton - not a lot of worth in fantasy land but interesting drop here.
Steelers - RB Jonanthan Dwyer - huge impact as in both of my drafts I have done thus far Dwyer was picked. It looks like Redman and Jones will get the rock until Bell comes back from foot injury.
Chargers - WR Robert Meachem - guess the two year stint has come to an end - with all the injuries in Charger land to WR one would have thought he still be around.
Eagles - OG Danny Watkins - a little impact but probably a sign that Chip is wanted to run that up tempo offense.
Packers - QB Vince Young - not that he was a threat to take the starting role, just a little of a shock that Packers don't want some insurance with an experience QB. RB Alex Green - guess the rookies have shined enough to end the Green experience - I'd keep an eye on this guy though as some teams need help at RB position.
Panthers - QB Jimmy Clausen - probably the end of his career with all the other more veteran QB's cut.
49ers - WR Austin Collie - really shocked at this as Collie is a proven slot WR. With Crabtree gone for the season and Boldin the only proven WR on the crew - one would think Collie makes the team. He will show up on someones team.
Seahawks - QB Brady Quinn gone. Bigger surprise is FB Michael Robinson - perhaps Lynch feels a FB is no longer needed. This release could have impact on Lynch's production.
Jets - QB Greg McElroy - means that Sanchez arm may not be that bad and Smith is the future of that franchise - still no word on who will be starting there though.
Bengals - QB John Skelton - not a lot of worth in fantasy land but interesting drop here.
